This cake is too much fun!  I love the creative and 3-D shaped cake pans like this one.  My main problem is actually having to cut into them!

When this cake is finished it’s a sight to see!  It’s hard to make it out in the picture, but there are little bees walking around the cake.  The detail on this cake mold is pretty high, so I don’t recommend it for your first cake, but if you’re ready to start challenging yourself this cake is perfect.

One really cool thing that I’ve seen done is dying the cake batter a golden color so that it looks like honey when the cake is cut open.  Too cute!

Nordic Ware cake pans aren’t cheap, but they’re some of the highest quality cake molds you’ll find (if you can find them).  On the rare chance that you find this pan in your area you can expect to spend around $40-45 for it.  Right now, Amazon.com has it for $34 and it qualifies for free shipping.  What a deal!
