Wilton Elmo Face Shaped Cake Pan

Really, who wouldn’t love an Elmo shaped cake pan?  I would be flattered if you made me one, and I would giggle with every bite I took!  In my opinion, this is one cake pan that every baker should have since everyone loves Elmo.  It’s also a great cake pan to get the hang of decorating with an icing bag.  Most of his face is a solid color, so it’s really easy to work on technique and gain confidence decorating cakes.

Also, this is a Wilton shaped cake pan which means that you get high-quality and superb craftsmanship.  Wilton cake pans last forever, probably longer than Elmo will be popular!

This cake is easier to decorate than most character shaped cake pans, but that doesn’t mean that experienced cake decorators can’t have some fun with it!  If you’re just starting out, I recommend this as one of your first cakes.

Wilton character shaped cake pans usually cost well over $20, but right now Amazon has it for less than $15.  Even with shipping you’re still saving money.

Alternatively, you can check out eBay for the Wilton Elmo Face Cake Pan. They tend to have lower prices than Amazon. This is great when you only want to get the pan. If you’re planning on getting more than pan, Amazon will help you get everything that you need and have it all shipped to your house. Shaped Cake PansThe options for buying shaped cake pans has dwindled over the years.  I remember being able to walk into my local grocery store and seeing a wall of cake pans in every shape and character available.  Unfortunately, this isn’t the case anymore.  Now, you need to find a large kitchen supply store or hit the internet.  Good news though!  We sell shaped cake pans right here on shapedcakepans.net through Amazon and eBay, so you’re already halfway there!

I chose to use Amazon to sell cake molds because they are the only online retailer that has pans from all around the world.  They have ten times the selection than I could carry on my own!  Another great thing about Amazon is that they have the best prices around and very fast shipping.  I buy my pans from them!

eBay is also great because of their fantastic prices and huge selection of retired and new cake pans.

There are other stores around the web that carry cake pans as well.  One thing to watch out for is that many of the character shaped cake pans they carry are not the licensed versions and look a little funny.  If that’s okay with you, you could probably save a couple bucks on your pan.

Shaped Cake Pan Stores

If you come across a store that carries lots of cake pans, consider yourself blessed!  They’re becoming much harder to find in traditional stores, and finding the exact one that you want can be difficult.  Most kitchen supply stores will carry the regular circle pans, springforms, and a few shapes, but when you need a specific shape or size the internet is a much safer bet.

Sometimes, stores like Wal-Mart or Michael’s will have pans but it seems like even this is happening less and less.  Baking cakes is becoming much more popular as of late, so this may turn around, but for now it’s hard to track them down.

Another great place to find shaped cake baking pans is garage sales.  As I’m sure you know, garage sales are very hit or miss, so I wouldn’t bank on this method.  What you should do is look at every yard sale you’re at, and if you find some buy them all!  It’s just like hitting the jackpot!

The internet is the best place to find exactly what you’re looking for.  Always be on the lookout for shaped cake pans everywhere you go, and stock up if you find a good price!
