Decorating sphere cakes can be a serious pain. There are so many places for you to mess it up it can be difficult to get started. Fear not though, with a few tips and practice you can successfully decorate a baseball cake. The first tool you need is a lazy susan since the cake will have to move around, or you’re going to have to figure out a way to move around it (no bueno!). Second, the cake has to be decorated on the plate or board that it will end up on since you can’t move it once it’s covered in icing. Third, decorate from the bottom up, using the base as a reference for your first lines. Doing this will help make sure that your lines are straight. Lastly, be sure that you trace out all of the baseball’s seams before trying to ice them. That isn’t something that you can just “wing” and have it come out well!
